Case Study

RGR Landscape prepared design guidelines and construction documents for a $4.5M streetscape improvement project in Scarsdale, NY. The primary goal was to provide a safe, attractive, and pedestrian-friendly environment for village residents and visitors as well as improved traffic circulation and enhanced on-street parking in the village center. RGR developed a simple, yet elegant, vocabulary of new paving materials, street furniture, lighting, and signage that would blend gracefully with the unique architecture of Scarsdale Village. A subsequent phase involved the redesign of on-street parking to be more efficient and resilient by incorporating bioswales to capture, hold, filter, and recharge storm water runoff from the adjacent streets and parking areas.
