Under a contract with NYC Parks & Recreation, RGR Landscape designed several portions of New York City’s waterfront parkland along the Hudson River from West 83rd to West 155th Streets in Manhattan. The project involved the completion of several segments of a shared-use path along the western edge of Riverside Park, which is the priority route for the Citywide Bicycle Network and Greenway Plan for New York City. The multi-use path is also part of the Hudson River Valley Greenway System that includes 350 miles of continuous paths from Battery Park in Lower Manhattan to Troy, NY. RGR served as lead consultant for a scope of work that included design, construction documents, approvals, and construction administration for a pile-supported structure in the Hudson River, which extends from West 83rd to West 91st Streets, as well as for two other path segments at Riverbank State Park and Northern Riverside Park. Once completed, the path provided a continuous bicycle and pedestrian connection along Manhattan’s Upper West Side waterfront.
