RGR Landscape developed a streetscape master plan for the streets adjoining White Plains Hospital in Westchester County, NY as part of a campus beautification effort in conjunction with several major building projects. In addition to creating a much more harmonious and attractive frontage for the hospital, an important goal of the project was to encourage pedestrian use with wider sidewalks and planted buffers to provide a more pedestrian-friendly environment for patients, visitors, and staff. RGR’s design approach featured continuous planting strips along the street curb with closely spaced street trees and lush decorative plantings to create a visual and physical buffer between pedestrians on the sidewalk and the adjacent street traffic.
