After preparing a master plan for the Adirondack Museum, RGR was commissioned to design a new education facility for the campus, the Mark Potter Education Center. Historically, the museum had been a seasonal destination. However, the new education building was transformative for the museum, allowing it to offer an expanded program of workshops, demonstrations, and seminars throughout the year. The 2700 square-foot, two-story structure includes two classrooms on the ground level with teacher offices and storage on the second level. Centrally located on the museum’s Blue Mountain Lake campus, the new building was designed to fit comfortably with the Adirondack-style architecture of the adjacent Mining and Marion River Carry exhibit buildings.
