RGR provided landscape design services in support of the Avalon Bay Communities’ proposal for the Freightway Redevelopment Site in the Village of Scarsdale, NY. RGR worked with the architects to develop conceptual landscape plans and renderings for the at-grade entrance and pedestrian spaces as well as several above grade roof deck courtyard spaces. The landscape design approach utilized the inherent qualities of each of those spaces to create a set of unique experiences for the residents and their guests. The paving materials as well as planter walls and pergolas are designed to complement the architecture of the residential buildings while the plant palette is derived from native and naturalized species that are common in the northeast region.
