Working with the Perkins Eastman architectural team, RGR Landscape developed landscape design and construction documents for a new residential development in the Village of Scarsdale, New York. Because of the concerns of a neighboring residential community, the landscape plan became the focus of the approvals process. RGR worked with representatives of the existing community as well as the client to devise a landscape scheme that would meet the requirements of the developer while providing an attractive buffer and a new landscape amenity for the residents of the neighboring community. As a result of that cooperative effort, the RGR plan was approved by the adjacent residents as well as the Village of Scarsdale. RGR also developed the public streetscape improvements that were requested as part of the Village approval. The landscape plan includes a paved public terrace, a series of private outdoor patios, a central water feature, and a planted buffer of native trees and shrubs, all of which are located on the roof deck of the below grade parking structure.
