RGR Landscape developed the landscape plan for this new 115-unit Continuing Care Residential Community in Scarsdale, NY. The new facility is set on a seven-acre wooded site adjacent to a delineated wetland and stream. Two outdoor terraces are designed for socializing and dining. For those adults living with memory issues, a healing garden takes the form of a looped strolling path through lawns and gardens. Lush, fragrant, and colorful plantings are intended to stimulate the senses and to change seasonally, providing a time reference as a memory aid. The site furniture is designed to suit the needs of elderly residents by including armrests, having higher seat heights, and being accessible to wheelchair users.
