RGR Landscape provided planning, design, and construction administration services to implement a network of nature trails at the former Whitney Estate on Long Island, which is used to bring together UN delegates and other world leaders in a retreat-like setting. The new trail system allows guests of the Foundation to traverse the estate’s 400 acres of preserved woodlands and open space. At the outset, the RGR team researched the history of the estate to identify any important historical features that could become points of interest along the trail system. The RGR team then produced a comprehensive report that included plans of the preferred trail layout, path cross section details, construction phasing plans, and an estimate of construction costs.
