RGR Landscape developed a master plan for the northern reaches of an 800-acre park along the Jersey City, NJ waterfront. Located on the shores of the Hudson River and New York Harbor, the park provides spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Lower Manhattan skyline. The master plan included public event venues, visitor services, and various active and passive recreation elements. The active recreation areas — soccer fields, bocce courts, and an ice-skating facility – were located along the edge of the Liberty Landing Marina. Nearby were a festival space, an outdoor performing arts center, and new pedestrian plazas. In addition, the plan included two new public parks: the ten-acre Millennium Park and the eight-acre New Jersey Living Memorial—A Grove of Remembrance, both of which were designed and implemented by the RGR team in subsequent phases of the planning and design effort.
