RGR Landscape prepared the landscape restoration plan for a 30-acre residential property in northwestern Connecticut. The land had been neglected for many years such that the ornamental landscapes, meadows, and wooded slopes were completely overgrown. Sedimentation of an existing pond had created a cattail swamp, and the existing stone walls, terraces, steps, and fences were in disrepair. The initial phase involved reclaiming the ornamental gardens nearest the residence. Special features included new stone steps and walkways, lawns, perennial gardens, masses of shrubs, and flowering trees. Subsequently, a new swimming pool and pool deck were designed to fit comfortably without obstructing views of the surrounding Connecticut countryside.
