RGR Landscape, in association with Perkins Eastman, designed the interior renovations for a publicly accessible ground floor lobby space in Lower Manhattan. To function as a public open space, the goal was to create an attractive pedestrian environment with ample seating and lush plantings that would also require relatively little maintenance. RGR worked with the PE team to design several different bench and planter combinations that could be utilized in a variety of arrangements and therefore provide a range of different seating options for individuals, couples, or small groups. The plant materials included evergreen trees in at-grade planters as well as evergreen ground cover plants that would provide lush green foliage throughout the year.
