Case Study

RGR Landscape developed a new downtown streetscape vision for the village’s main commercial corridor along Pleasantville Road. An important goal of the project was to create a safe, pedestrian-friendly environment that would prioritize the pedestrian experience over the speed of vehicular traffic. Several design features, such as raised crosswalks and narrow vehicular travel-lanes, were incorporated in the plan to reduce traffic speeds through the village center. In turn, sidewalks could then be widened to provide more space for pedestrian circulation, seating, and socializing.
