RGR Landscape was retained by the Village of Briarcliff Manor, NY to aid in restoring and rebuilding the Law Memorial Park pool house. The two story, ten thousand square foot structure was badly damaged in a fire and could no longer be occupied. Our work proceeded in two phases, the first of which focused on restoring the lower-level offices and locker rooms as well as repairing the lower-level façade, including doors, windows, heavy wood timbers, and stucco, to have a useable facility for the following summer pool season. The second phase rebuilt the upper level, which had been burned down to the floor slab. The design included a large open-air pavilion framed with custom fabricated glue-laminated arches, reconstruction of a substantial stone fireplace, a commercial kitchen, and accessible bathroom. RGR also designed a large at-grade terrace on the upper level for gatherings, classes and dining, along with extensive perennial plantings, flowering trees, and shade trees.
