Scenic Hudson RiverWalk Park
Tarrytown, New York

The Village of Tarrytown selected RGR to design the new Scenic Hudson RiverWalk Park on a waterfront site near the Metro North railroad station. The $5M first-phase project creates a linear park, extending more than one-half mile along the Hudson River waterfront. Scenic Hudson RiverWalk Park will provide a continuous waterfront esplanade for pedestrians, a separate path for cyclists, a variety of spaces for outdoor recreation, and a unique "eco-corridor" traversing the length of the park from north to south, eventually connecting with the restored natural landscape along Andre Brook. The waterfront esplanade will offer spectacular views of the Hudson River, the Tappan Zee Bridge, and the Manhattan skyline, as well as sitting areas, a prominent overlook, and opportunities to access the water's edge. The "eco-corridor," characterized by natural swales and native grasses, will provide a more natural context for park users to enjoy native plants and wildlife, as well as for environmental education.
