Projects: Waterfront

Riverside Park Bike and Pedestrian Path
New York, New York

RGR prepared feasibility studies, schematic designs, and construction documents for sections of waterfront parkland along the Hudson River from West 83rd to West 155th Streets. The project includes a pedestrian and bicycle path and borders the western edge of Riverside Park in Manhattan. The path is the priority route of the Citywide Bicycle Network and Greenway Plan for New York City and will be part of the Hudson River Valley Greenway System, consisting of 350 miles of continuous paths from Battery Park in Lower Manhattan to Troy, New York.

The RGR Landscape scope of work included 1) construction documents for a pile-supported structure for the bike/pedestrian path from West 83rd to West 91st Streets, 2) a feasibility study and schematic design for a pedestrian bridge over the Henry Hudson Parkway connecting the 116th Street Overlook in Riverside Park with the path system, 3) construction documents for the Riverbank State Park area from West 133rd to West 145th Streets, and 4) construction documents for the Northern Riverside Park area from West 145th Street to a connecting path at West 155th Street.
