Projects: Residential and Commercial Developments

Greenwich Hills
Greenwich, Connecticut

The Greenwich Hills Association, Inc. selected RGR to prepare a landscape master plan for their 77-unit residential community in southern Connecticut. Designed and built in the early 1970s, the Greenwich Hills development comprises 11 buildings on 16 acres of land. The complex was originally designed on principles that respected the site's topography. Surrounded by native woodlands and open fields that are maintained as a conservancy by the Greenwich Hills community, the master plan develops a vision for the restoration and long-term management of the Greenwich Hills landscape, while respecting the essential elements of the original landscape concept.

RGR proposed the use of elements taken from the nearby rural landscape, such as hedgerows, split-rail fences, and stone walls, in a manner that would be consistent throughout the complex and strengthen the site's natural character.
